Rev Burner
£29.90 — £33.90
The Rev Burner USB Board is a new product for the people who really want the racing simulation to be as real as possible. If you are busy building your custom cockpit you may be already using parts from a real car, like the seat, the steering wheel or the hand brake. But until now there was no way to use a real rev counter, unless you disassemble it and use servo or step motors to drive the needdle. But this is not for everybody.
The Rev Burner USB Board makes it possible for everyone to connect a REAL rev counter to the computer USB port and use it with the most popular simulators. The most popular games are supported but the list is constantly updated to include the most recent simulators. Check the full list here.
Any rev counter is compatible with this board:
- 4 cylinders engine rev counters up to 17.000 RPM
- 6 cylinders engine rev counters up to 12.000 RPM
- and 8 cylinders engine rev counters up to 8.000 RPM
Rev counters for diesel engines won’t work.
Following is a video of the Rev Burner board, using a 11.000 RPM rev counter and GTR2.
PLEASE NOTE: This item requires a 12V switching (a.k.a. regulated) power supply, which may be bought with the rev burner. Power supplies with UK, European or US plug are available.
If you think to use a power supply you already have at home, be sure it has the following characteristics:
- the output voltage must be 12V. It must be a switching (or regulated) power supply. Don’t use unregulated power supplies.
- Max power current sholuld be at least 1A. Generally this is enough to power most of the rev counters.
- Power plug size must be 5.5mm/2.1mm or 5.5mm/2.1mm (outer/inner diameter). A compatible plug in available in the shop.
- The center pin of the power plug is the positive. Look for the symbol below on the power supply.
