Title: Upgrading Simscreen on Windows 7 64bit
Post by: Sleepy81 on May 22, 2011, 10:12:17 pm
I'm having trouble with the simscreen bootloader.

When I put the simscreen board in program mode, and run the simscreen bootloader, the bootloader software tells me that the device is connected, but the progres bar stops.
I've tried to run it severeal times, and the progress bar stops at approx 70% if I first power up the simscreen in program mode, the run the bootloader, and it stops at approx. 10% if I have the bootloader open when I power up the board in program mode. (I know the last approach is not as described, but though I'd try it just to see if it worked...)

I'm guessing that this is a windows 7 64bit issue, since I have not had problems before when I ran 32-bit.

I have tried to run the program in compability mode (viste, XP and so forth), and also as administrator, but no luck...

However, I just upgraded the SPI-D on the same 64-bit machine, and that worked fine, so I'm a bit puzzled...

Hi.
Windows 64-bit should work fine with the bootloader.

Thanks

Yes, I'm using the Simscreen bootloader.

I am using USB hubs. (two powered hubs actually, my USB wire is just over 10m...)

So that is probably the problem. I will connect it directly to my pc tomorrow an see if that works!

Thanks for the reply! Execlent support as allways! :)

it might be the cable too long.
I would try a shorter one just for the upgrade.

Cheers
