Hello everyone, I asked many months ago about using my 2002 Porsche 911 cluster and was told it was impossible. I still want to use the Porsche dashboard and cluster so I removed all the Porsche factory gauges and now want to place compatible gauges inside the Porsche plastic housing.
What gauges would I be able to put in there? Is anyone willing to take on this project for me as I know nothing about electronics and would probably destroy this.
Very frustrating for a novice.
thanks

Hello.
it's a bit hard to give you a detailed answer, because I don't know the cluster, it's size etc...
but what I would do is buy a couple of TYPE_R tachometer from Ebay and use them to replace the oginal speedometer and tachometer of the dashboard.
TYPE-R tachometers are the cheapest you can find so you are not going to waste a lot of money if it doesn't work.

Cristiano

Hi. Send me some pics off the cluster ( disassembled if possible) to see some gauges to use. Everything is possible ;) dont give up the project. It's a nice cluster but not acessible here in Portugal ; D

OK, can you PM me your email?
thanks

I use an BMW cluster most of it are compatible with it.
And Volkswagen cluster's whith the number 919 in it would work to.

But I'm a Porsche guy :p
I'm using a Carrera interior and dashboard so no BMW clusters. :)
Even if I have to replace the Porsche gauges, is there a list of compatible gauges? I find it hard to believe there isn't a list. You have this awesome product, yet no list of stuff that works with it.
Don't the Type R gauges have that shift light? I'm looking for OEM type gauges to fit into a cluster. :)

Like Cristiano said, if it's compatible you buy a type-r disassemble it and put the hardware inside of the porsche cluster

^^^Didn't know you could do that without destroying the gauge.

With patience and some skill everything is possible.
And we are here to help each other right? So, send me the pictures to give you more details

Hey, how about the old gauges out of an old 944 S2? 1990 Porsche 944 S2 has a pretty cool cluster. Would old gauges like this work? I actually have one of these clusters on hand.
-
What? do you send me one for free? :D just kidding. I need some resourse to see if works with "can" or not
-
I wish I knew about this stuff. I don't know if old 944 works with CAN, are you going to find out? Or do I have to go to Porsche dealer to find out, which would be kind of hard.
