I would like to know how to upgrade the firmware on the Pro Shift board. I looked on the Documentation page and there are no pictures or instructions on how to do it. I will appreciate any help.
Thanks.

Hello.
I haven't added a picture of the of the Pro Shift yet but I will soon.
This is what you have to do:
1) disconnect ther Pro Shift from the computer
2) Near the USB connector of the Pro Shift there are two holes marked as PROG. you have to use some wire and link these two holes together in order to upgrade the firmware
3) Connect the USB cable, while the holes are connected together. Now you can remove the wire from the two holes if this is easier for you.
The Pro Shift is now in "firmware upgrade" mode. SimDash doesn't detect it, if everything is correct.
4) Download the "Bootloader" application from the Download page on the website.
5) Start it. Load the firmware file (is the .hex file in the zip file you download). Click "Upgrade" to start the upgrade process.
The upgrade process only takes few seconds. When it is completed, disconnect the USB cable.
Job done.
Please let me know if there is something I haven't explained well.
Regards
Cristiano

There are instructions here. (http://www.symprojects.com/upgrading-the-firmware/) They don't specifically mention the Pro Shift, but the procedure should be the same.
The difference with the Pro Shift is the lack of a jumper. Instead, you'll need to connect the two holes marked "PROG" with a piece of wire or something similar.
Should you happen to have a male pin header handy you could just solder that on and use a jumper to connect the pins.

Did the upgrade, no problems. Will look for some buttons and install them.

Hi
I try to upgrade firmware to "Pro Shift alternative firmware" to use ProShift Buttons (switch) but in control panel of Sim Dash I see only 12 Led,2 Shift and 2 Aux,sliders (or what) for the switch can not see.
I use "tutorial" from here http://www.symprojects.com/upgrading-the-firmware/ but without luck.
p.s.
I have SimDash v1.3.3

EDIT:
I find in Control Panel\Game Controllers\Pro Shift ;D

Hello.
When you install the firmware that supports the switches, the Pro Shift keeps working in the usual way in SimDash.
The difference is it also appears like a usb game controller.
In order to use the switches you don't need to do any configuration in SimDash. just connect up to switches/push buttons to the pins marked as Switch1 to Switch4 on the pcb.
Then if you want to use the switches in the simulator to perform some actions, you have to configure the simulator to use the new usb game controller.
Cheers

Never mind! I have it working now. Was trying on my work PC, which runs an older version of IE. It works fine at home. ;)
Hi,
I didn't want to start a new thread for this....
The link on the Downloads page for the "Pro Shift alternative firmware. (SimDash 1.3.3 or later)"
is not working.

The alternative firmware is really not available for the download, because the firmware didn't work properly so don't use it.
A new version of the firmware will be available with the next release of SImDash, in a week or two.
