Title: 1.3.4 final version
Post by: Denis Castilloux on October 28, 2011, 02:42:30 am
Hi! Christiano

I'm probably the only one who did not see it on the October 22, but when there is something new just like final version of 1.3.4. It should be posted here first and or at the same time as the web site. I never go on the web site, i'm following everything from the forum.

Question about SimDash v.1.3.4
In the previous version when minimized SimDash was in the system traybar and now it is only in the taskbar.
How can I move in trybar?

Thanks

Hi Christiano!

Remember when we discuss certain issue with the beta version 1.3.4, was not able to set control for VHR, its still the same.

One thing i notice at that time the double proshift (see .jpg) so it's the same with the final version, i did an uninstal of 1.3.4 and reinstall 1.3.3 and the result is i dont have the double proshift, i have the same thing as Jadran mention in is post.

Thank

Check what I suggested to Jadran. it could work for you too.
I think Windows remembers that you plugged in a Pro Shift without the button and then one with the buttons and it gets confused I think.
If you disinstall the Pro Shifts (how I suggested to Jadran) and stick with the same firmware, you shouldn't see the double pro shift again.

Cheers

Ok. I will investigate.
But how is it if you don't use the firmware with the buttons?

Hi.
When SimDash 1.3.4 starts it creates a file with name ErrorLog.txt in the folder where it is installed.

Could you send that file to me please? it could  contsain some useful information.

Does the application freeze always. and has it always freezed?

Can you check if disconnecting some devices it works well. Or if you play a different game...

thank
Cristiano

Cristiano,

I test it out with LFS, rFactor & iRacing...the Simdash is working good and did not crash at all...I do not know what you did but it is not crashing or freezing... ;D

Just a question how to make proshift work with iRacing?

Thx

Ramall

Thank you for testing the software.
I will include the changes I have made in the next version of SimDash. They are related to the code that handles the USB communications.

Regarding IRacing, there is nothing particular you should do. what data are you trying to use?

thanks

Question about SimDash v.1.3.4
In the previous version when minimized SimDash was in the system traybar and now it is only in the taskbar.
How can I move in trybar?

hi christiano.

i have the same "problem".
is this just the way simdash is coded or can we send it to the traybar instead of taskbar?

The functionality is not present in SimDash at the moment, sorry.
I will put it back in the next version.

Meanwhile there are some utilities that allow you to move an application to the system bar. like:

Hi Cristiano

I'm waiting to get my simscreen, and I'm really looking forward to it :)

I bought the simscreen to be a replacement for my iSpeed, because I'm irritated about the extra window over iRacing, but I just looked the list through on what is possible to be shown from iRacing on the simscreen, and I saw that "fuel used pr. lap" was not there :( so is it there under a different name or is it possible to get it on the screen some how ?
Because it's one of the most important informations (for me) when you have to calculate how much fuel you must have to finnish the race, and also to calculate pitstops :)

P.s
It's not a criticism of your simscreen at all, but just a question, and if the option is not there, then it's just a wish to get to the screen :)

Hope that you undestand me, my English is not that great :)

Regards
Michael

Hello.
the fuel comsumption per lap is not available and there is no way you can add it.
I can add it anyway in the next version of SimDash.

What do you think it is the best way to calculate it? should I consider the fuel consumption over all the completed laps or should I display only the fuel comsumed in the last lap?

Regards

Hi

Well in the iRacing SDK it's possible to get live fuel consumption, so the telemetry is there, it's only how to get it :) it's actually done in iSpeed, where you have fuel consumption now and average over 5 laps. it would be really nice and apreciated if both calculations where in the next simdash, but 1 of them would be really nice :)

And thank you for taking my wish under consideration :)

I don't remember the instant fuel consumption in the IRacing SDK, so I don't know how I can calculate it. I need to think about that.
Instead the average consumption over the last, say, five laps it's not a problem.

http://members.iracing.com/jforum/posts/list/1021807.page (http://members.iracing.com/jforum/posts/list/1021807.page)

The link is to the thread on iRacing.com forum where you can download the SDK called iRacingTelem_2010_10_21.zip

in that zip file there is a test program called TelemSample_SP, and there is the fuel usage is calculated :)

I know it's an old SDK but it still works, but I guess that the fuel usage is calculated in how many Liters or Kg fuel is used on a second or a minut

I my self is looking into the SDK but, my programming language is C# and there is not a hole lot of info in that language, so I try look the c++ code through and convet it into C# because that I have made a fuel & pitstop calculator program, and I now want to use the iRacing SDK to get as much info from the sim into the program as possible, and hopefully it all will be almost fully automatic, but when I'm new to programming, then it's hard :)

Hello.
have you downloaded the file? could you send it to me please? my subscription is expired and I can access the forum at the moment.

I would be happy to check how the fuel calculation is done and translate it to the new API.

Thanks
