Title: Order query, and help
Post by: Hampsta on December 18, 2011, 01:27:27 am
Hi
I am about to order my second rev burner as i have just picked up a XJR (see photo) but I also want some more LEDs. When i go to the store there is no price for the standard ones as they come free with the Pro shift (which I already have) How much are they please?
Also does anyone know where I may be able to get a wiring diagram for this cluster?

Thanks
Ricky

Hi,

I would (did) buy the ones with the metal holder - sice it is a lot easier to mount them and make it look good, since the holder covers any un-even-ness in the holes I drilled.

It is also easy to change an LED if it breaks or if you want to change the colour of an LED. Just pull it out (from behind) and put the replacement in.

I got a bunch of the ones without a holder too, but ended up using only the ones with holders. The LEDs are exactly the same - it is just the holder that is added.

The LEDs have a price now and can be bought.

Hi
Have just put a order through for the following
Rev Burner
DLC-247
3x 6 digit display for DLC-247
Shift array and Gear indicator panel for DLC-247

Can you please confirm for me that the DLC-247 will run the three displays and the shift array? I'm just no %100 sure when I add up all the LEDs and Digit displays.

Thanks
Ricky

From the information in the shop, it appears the 6 digit displays take up a full connector on the DLC-247 each. You can install 3 of them per controller. For any other displays you'll need another DLC-247.

Yeah that's what I thought but then if you look at the description above the video here
http://www.symprojects.com/shop/dlc-247/ it appears to be driving it all.

I hope so anyway because that's what I've ordered!

Cheers

The DLC-247 can drive up to 24 displays.
The shift light array takes 4 displays so you will be able to use everything.

You have to check the connections schema on the website, in the page that explains how to configure the DLC-247.

this is the link to the picture:

http://www.symprojects.com/wp-content/uploads/DLC247_9562/DLC2471.jpg

you see that some displays share some pins.

in your case the shift array will have to share some pins with the 6x displays. so you can't plug the shift array connector because the pins are already plugged into the 6x connectors. so you have to modify the wires to connect the same pins to 2 differen displays/shift array.

This is confusing to explain. With the above picturein front of you, the controller and the displays to make tests it will become all clear.

Remember, every connector hosts 8 displays. First connect the 3 6x displays to each connector.
Now you have 2 free displays per connector. Use the TEST button in SimDash and the schema above to see what are the 6 available displays. choose 4 for the shift array. see what pins they connect to.

Anyway if you don't want the shift light array, tell me soon so I can remove it from your order.

Ask me any questions you have but my suggestion is to wait, when you have the controller and the displays with you it will become more clear.

Hi Cristiano, thanks for that. I did wonder if it was common pinning so thats cool. As for the order I'll take it aaalllllll, haha. I'm really looking forward to getting everything setup, think it's going to be a bit of work though but oh well. I already have a Proshift, SPI-D, GI-max and rev burner that I want to keep using so I am going to need some more USBs and a bit of patients lol.
Thank you very much for all your support and for these amazing products. I don't bother playing games that don't support your gear it just isn't the same.

Cheers
Ricky.
