Title: Suggested feature for revburner to improve compability with speedometers
Post by: perkabrod on March 19, 2012, 10:52:50 am
Hi!

I guess my Nissan S13 cluster thread has not gone unnoticed :)
Late yesterday night I got an idea.

Why not do a speedo firmware that DRIVES a TACHOMETER?
That way everyone that experience problems with their speedometers on their clusters can just get a cheap Type-R tachometer, disassemble it and install to their cluster using the speedometer gauge background.

Like this:

Or how does it work? Does the speedometer and tachometer want the same signal already? Then I believe I could just get me a tacometer right away and plug it in to the speedometer firmware board.
Appreciate if any devs could give a comment. Personally I think it's an awesome idea  ;)

Tachometers and speedometers work in the same way.
It's already possible to replace the speedometer with a cheapo tachometer. I remember somebody did it because he couldn't make hit speedometer work.
