Title: Pro Shift = Unknown Device
Post by: Evildaave on September 07, 2012, 04:19:07 am
In Win7x64 my GI-Max works fine in all USB ports. However the Pro Shift shows up as a Unknown Device. SimDash version 1.3.6 does not see it also. It is connected with the proper cable but I am wondering have I made a mistake and a DLC-247 is needed for the Pro Shift to work?

Hello.
You haven't done any mistake. The Pro  Shift should be detected when it is plugged in, like the gi max does.

I would suggest to reload the firmware, which is available in the download page. On the website there are  the instructions also, but please let me know if anything is not clear.

Regards
Cristiano

So far when I attempt to run the Bootloader it says, "Device not Detected. Verify device is in bootloader mode."

I am aware I must connect the Prog holes together with some "wire" then connect Pro Shift via USB and finally run the Bootloader.
Not knowing much about electronics I am using paper clips and safety pins as a connection. Should I be using a certain wire to ensure a proper connection?

A paper clip is fine.
Your pro shift is defitely not working correctly.
I am sorry for that. I tested it before posting it and everything was fine.

Could you please send an email to contact@symprojects.com with your order details and I will arrange a replacement.

Thank you
Cristiano

I will test it on a differant PC later on today to make sure it is not something on my end. If I get the same results then I will follow your instructions to arrange a replacement.

Tested on a differant Win7 x64 PC with the same results. GI Max worked with no problems but not the Pro Shift. Even bought a differant mini USB cable hoping it was only that.
The information you asked for is on it's way.
Thank you for your quick reponse.
