Title: DLC-247 confusion
Post by: Flatspotter on September 24, 2012, 12:22:17 am
Hi, I was reading the thread titled "DLC-247" and I'm still a little confused. I want to hook up the following devices:

Two 6-digit displays (last lap and best lap)
One single-digit display (gear readout)
One 3-digit display (lap counter)

Can I run all of these off of one DLC-247? I was planning on using 3 of the DLC-247 pin splitters.

If I can, are there any outputs left over (e.g. for single LEDs, not 7-segment LED displays)?

Also, what cables would I need for this?

Thank you.

Hi.
following this schema which is on the website:

http://www.symprojects.com/wp-content/uploads/DLC247_9562/DLC2471.jpg

you can do the following:

- connect 1 6-digit display to connector A (no pin splitter needed). (displays 1, 2, 3, 5, 6,7 will be in use)
- connect 1 6-digit display to connector B (no pin splitter needed). (displays 9, 10, 11, 13, 14,15 will be in use)
- connect single-digit display and 3-digit display to connector C. you won't need a pin splitter.
- you have available slots on each connector to use with LEDs if you wish. in that case get a couple of pin splitters.

if you buy the pre-made displays from the website, they come with the wires.

for the LEDs, I would suggest these:
