Hi.
The LED on you tachometer is not driven by the rev burner. it's the tachometer that decides when to turn it on.
Usually there is a know on the tacho to set the RPM value at which the LED turns on. Or buttons.

As I said it depends on the tachometer.
Does the tachometer have any button near the LED? in the picture it is not clear

Yes it has a mode button and a arrow up and down buttons ...... and on the back it had a 4 6 8 switch on the back ....
-
You have to use the MODE and ARROW UP and ARROW DOWN buttons to set the shift light.
Did the tachometer come with any instructions?
-

their is a black and red wire which I have put into the + and the _ is that the right way.... from the red lighton the tacho.

It says that you have to keep the MODE button pushed until the SET led turns ON.
At this point use the UP and DOWN buttons to move the needle to the RPM value that you want the shift light ON.
when you have done, push the MODE button again
