I was hoping to release a new version of SimDash with support for Project Cars and Assetto Corsa, but I have a problem with lap times in Assetto Corsa.

if you don't want to wait, this is what I have at the moment:

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/3544050/SimDashTest.rar

Assetto Corsa works, but not lap times (current, last, best).
Project Cars should work too.

F1 2013 is not in yes, but work is in progress.

Hello.
if you click the Config button for Assetto Corsa, a message is shown with the instructions on how to make the configure the simulator to work with SimDash.

Regarding the LEDs not working with the game, not all the games can display all the data.
with some games there is less data available.

this document:

show exactly what data is supported by each game.

yes but I had to load it 3 times before it worked . and like I said only the green leds work .

hm... sounds strange to me!

maybe you can try one of these (if you want!), cause these are 100% default and my MONSTA works fine with both. all LEDs are working correctly all time with Assetto and other sims.

Hi Cristiano.  :)
Merry xmas and happy new year.

Sorry to be a beggar mafrien'.
Is there any chance that when we hit the redX at the top right of the Application(SimDash),
instead of closing/exiting the program, it minimises to system tray and keeps running.??  ;)

Don't know how many times i've forgot and been caught out by this. ;D
No biggie, just thought i would ask.

Again mafrien',
thankyou for your oustanding support.

Bought pro gauge and built a custom dash hoping it will all work.
There is no config button for Assetto Corsa but shows Assetto Corsa as a supported game.

I can't get the gear shifter GI Pro, Rev burner and Rev speed. All three are detected with SimDash.

Any tips? Is this a steam issue?

Edit: I got it working when I clicked "auto -detect" on the plugin. But now need to get the min and max aligned.

Hi there bp.  :)

You don't need to configure anything.
With Pro-Gauge connected, AssettoCorsa will output the data and it will show on your clocks(RPM, Speed, Fuel etc.)

The config button Cristiano talks of may be the one on the main page of SymDash.

Where it says "Connected Devices",
there is a two words on the right(not buttons as such).

1 is "Configure" and below it, the other is "Disable".

So whatever Devices you have connected, you can either disable or configure them.
Pressing configure, takes you to a page where you can test the parameters of each device.

you maybe right , it makes more sense that way . I just don't understand why the leds on the  Monsta dont work the way they  should . thanks .
Title: Re: Assetto Corsa Support
Post by: Cristiano on January 19, 2014, 06:44:47 pm
Hello.
The Config link next to the simulator's name is for configuring the game to make it talk with SimDash.

If there is no Config link it means that the game doesn't need any configuration.

Then there are the Configure links next to each hardware device (GI Max, Rev Burner etc...).
They are for configure the devices.

Cristiano

Hi there Christiano. :)

I'm just wondering if you plan on implementing more data/gauge outputs from Assettocorsa.

There's a post on the ac forums under shared memory iirc that states: pressures, temps etc. someone has implemented.
http://www.assettocorsa.net/forum/index.php?threads/z1-dashboard-software.6705/ it's post #2.

I don't know exactly how simdash gets the info but i thought it was by way of, the shared memory(sry for assuming).

i would like to see some more data outputs from assetto corsa, im planning on buyin your new sim monitor, but will love to see some more data available before i buy the license.
Cant get the numbers of cars, my position, max laps to work,  maybe its because i only use the trail version right now?

And also ingame is posible to make apps showing tyretemps, tyrepressure, gap from next(vs AI), split times, and ABS, so im thinking its posible to get that data to simdash  :)

thanks..

I think I checked Assetto Corsa few time ago and verified that I was using all the data available.

I will check again to be sure I am not missing anything.

Thank you for sending the link to the forum post. However, if I am not wrong, the guy posting the dashboards previews doesn't say that the displayed data is all coming from Assetto Corsa.
it's possible another simulator was being used.

I will check however.

Cristiano

Many thanks Cristiano..

in sim monitor the one named laps should be the number of laps i have to race and the one named cars are the number of cars in my race, right?`
If thats the case i cant get it to work at all, laps says -1 and Cars just stays at 1, the same with the position, it always says 1 even if i race agaist 20..

And here are some links to some apps from assetto corsa using some of the things simdash doesn't support..

Assetto Corsa stopped working for me few time ago and could not find anything wrong.

Can you get data like RPM or speed with your installation?
I thought that external plugin support had been disabled, like happened in the past, but instead it looks like is working.

I need to find out why it doesn't work for me.

I have checked the Assetto Corsa forum again.
The API situation is a bit confusing because it looks like there are different APIs, that support different amounts of data.

I think I have found information on an API that outputs more data and I am implementing it.
I should test it today or tomorrow.

if it works, I will update the Assetto Corsa plugin to use it, in the next release of Simdash.

thanks
Cristiano

Hey Cristiano, first of all thank you for your great work, I would like to ask you if you are planning new extra release for AC plugin.

I notice that now it works great, but eg. the actual car position will always return 1 for me.

Also I wonder if you are planning any extra feature for data output like:

- delta with your best time;
- delta from prev car;
- delta from next car;

Thanks for reply, if you are interested in here you can find the feature available atm in AC ( https://docs.google.com/document/d/1KfkZiIluXZ6mMhLWfDX1qAGbvhGRC3ZUzjVIt5FQpp4/pub )

I noticed a strange issue in the last few days, meanwhile using my Pro Race sometimes it freeze and the informations stay active forever, I have to force unplug the usb and reconnect to have it working back.

I moved back to simdash v4 (I was using v5) but I still notice this issue.

I tried to upgrade the firmware of my pro race but the problem still occur.

I'm writing this here because I play only AC and I don't know if this is affecting other games too or not.

Do you have any suggestion for this issue?

Nope is connected directly to the motherboard usb plug, can I try to switch to another port.

A strange thing is that if I disconnect it, then it starts back and randomly stops to work

Hello Cristiano.

I think you need to update simdash, after the lastest update to assetto corsa my gi-max and pro-gauge isnt working anymore.
Then i start a game my rpm counter stays at max, speed counter stays at zero and the gi-max has only one light on.
