I am also looking for Version 7.
If someone gets me a copy of the file/files, I will put it on a download Server so that anyone can get hold of it.

General Discussions / SimMonitor - Network
« on: August 12, 2014, 04:14:46 pm »
Hi,
I am interested in the SimMonitor, but displayed on a network computer screen.
There is a whole lot of info available that I would like to see while racing.
I currently have 3 screens on my computer and had installed a 4 one, but had too many issues after that with screen resolutions.
So, I have added a small computer with screen and I am looking to display the racing info on that.
Please advise if there is a version in the pipeline to display remotely or if currently possible.
Thanks.

Hope that helps.

Yes, the ports are the same in SimDash and the config file:  :)
<input device_type="auto" />
   <motion enabled="true" ip="127.0.0.1" port="20777" delay="1" extradata="1" />
   <screenshotMode enabled="false" />

Could it be the "Delay" part? Should it be "0"? Tried it, still not working. :)
The one thing is, on SimDash in the "Main" tab the "No simulator detected" is displayed when GRID 2 is running. On Race07 it shows Race07 immediately when I start the game.
I take it that for some reason SimDash doesn't read anything on the port. I have tried changing the port to something else on the config and SimDash, with no success.

The file is in the following folder:
C:\Users\Danie\Documents\My Games\GRID 2\hardwaresettings
The file name is "hardware_settings_config.xml".
I have also tried changing the second config file in the games folder with no success.

Hi,
I have installed the Beta to test and see if GRID 2 will work, but it is a no go on my side.
My settings is set to:
<motion enabled="true" ip="127.0.0.1" port="20777" delay="1" extradata="1" />

Is there something else I need to set?

Hi.
Yip, not possible to go back to the old patch. That is fine because the problem clearly lies with Dirt 3.   ::)
Will see if I can find a work-around on that.

The Rev counter is a standard TypeR, Item No 33027SW-R. It is standard off the shelf stuff. I just tested it on a car to make sure it is working the way it should.
Is there a way I can test the pulse from the S1 port with a standard volt meter to see if there is anything supplied through the port, before you send me a new rev burner?

OK, the change on the power supply did not work. The Rev counter still doesn't do anything.

I have pick up another problem on Dirt 3.
On Dirt 3 you need to set the following line:

<motion enabled="true" ip="127.0.0.1" port="20777" delay="1" extradata="1" />

If I set it as above the game crash when going over the finish line of a race.
I am using Dirt 3 on Steam.
When changing the above line back to extradata="0", Dirt 3 works fine without any problems, but then the SIM Equipment doesn't work.

Thanks for the quick reply.
I have tried that and the rev counter is still not moving when pressing any of the "Test" buttons.

I will try it in a game but I am sure that if the Test button doesn't work then surely it won't work in the game either.

I am trying to setup rev burner with a TypeR rev counter. The rev counter has been tested on a actual vehicle and is working fine.
I have put the White & Red wires from the rev counter on the + of Rev Burner and the black wire from the rev counter on the - of rev burner. The green wire (going to coil on actual vehicle) from the rev counter was added to S1 on the rev burner.
12v 1A Power supply was plugged into the power socket on rev burner and usb plugged in.
Sim Dash show that the rev burner is detected by there is no lights on the rev counter and pressing the test button on the software result in nothing.
OK, dismantle everything and connect another power supply (Regulated 13.8v 3A) red directly to the rev counter (White & Red wire) and the black to the - on the rev burner and the black wire of the rev counter based on schema below:

http://www.symprojects.com/wp-content/uploads/Powersupplies_14565/psuschema.png

Now I have lights on the rev counter but "Test" from SIM Dash still result in nothing.
Playing Dirt 3 and my GI-Pro works 100%, but still nothing on the rev counter.
 ??? What am I doing wrong, or is the rev burner faulty out the box?
