I have tested it and it works fine.

I needed to trick simdash by renaming a dos application to Dirt2_game.exe and leaving it running in the background. This would trick Simdash in to accepting a UDP connection.

It is the normal Codemasters telemetry so just modify the hardware settings XML file like normal.

The name of the Dirt Rally executable is drt.exe

If you can just update Simdash to monitor for that EXE then it should work fine.

Questions about specific simulators / Re: Dirt 3 Complete Edition

It is a known bug with the motion that was introduced in Dirt 3 1.2

Please see this thread and bump the thread

Did this get forgotten about in the new version 6 update?

I don't see it in the list of games in Sim Dash 6.

It is the standard Codemasters telemetry. You just need to monitor for GRIDAutosport_avx.exe

I have it running on my Pro-gauge, Rev Burner and Sim Screens using the workaround I posted earlier.

I had a play round with Grid Autosport and I got all my gauges and Sim Screens going.

I tricked Sim Dash in to thinking F1 2013 was running by making a little place holder program called called F1_2013.exe so that Sim Dash would activate. Then pointed the UDP traffic at Sim Dash like a normal codies game and it all worked.

The name of the grid executable is GRIDAutosport_avx.exe

You probably just need to get Sim Dash to monitor for that exe and activate when it sees it.

I hope that helps

Ok thanks,I got the one that says Complete edition.
I hope that's the right one..

I am pretty sure the complete edition has the patch already installed. When you install the game, check the version of the dirt3_game.exe. If it is 1.0 or 1.1 then you are sweet. If it is 1.2 then you are stuck.

It took me ages to find an original DVD version.

Thanks.

FYI Grid Auto Sport is out now.

Hello

I got Dirt3 from Steam and in order for my SPI-D and GI-MAX to work I know I have to change this <motion enabled="true" extradata="0" delay="1" port="20777" ip="dbox"/>what I did  but when I get to the finish line the screen goes black and that's it.

I read here in one of the topics that its because of the patch codemasters release so my question is getting the cd version instead of steam version will it fix this problem if I don't download the patch?

thanks
Ricky

Hi Ricky.

Yes, that is a bug in DiRT3 they introduced in the 1.2 patch.

You need to buy they original DVD version, not the Game of the Year edition because that comes with the 1.2 patch already installed.

I run my DiRT 3 using a Pro-gauge, rev burner, 2x sim screens, 8 gauges and a Sim Instruments dash. That all works fine on the original DVD version.

Here is a video of my setup in DiRT 3.

Is the dlc-247 board signal a 5 volt dc or 5 volt ac output?

Thanks

5V DC output.

All the Symprojects boards are DC

Thanks for your help but do you know of a relay that would work for my project? I would really like to run a 12 volt converter so I could run as many led light strips as I wanted to. If you do not know of a relay do you know someone that could help me design this project?

Thanks

Something like this would work.

Something with a 5v input and a 12v load. So when the DLC-247 sends 5v it will trigger the relay which will send 12v to your lights.

Or you could use a MOSFET like this.

The DLC-247 is the board which can control LED warning lights etc.

It is only 5v and it is only designed for small LED lights. You can use an additional 5v power supply but I am not sure what the amperage limit on the board is, but I would say that it won't be powerful enough to run anything larger than LED lights.

You could probably do something with relays. Have a bigger power supply running in to a relay then use the DLC-247 to trigger the relay.

Yes, people still use the forum.

A spam bot did hit the server a few days ago. It didn't really hack the forum, it just joined the forum like a normal user would and posted spam. I am sure when one of the Admins comes on they will delete the messages and delete the spammers account. I run a couple of forums myself and I know it is a constant battle trying to keep spammers out.

As for your question. See if you can find a wiring diagram and some Ohm specs of the gauges.

What I have found through doing my own dash is that if the senders have 1 or 2 wires leading to the gauges then they will typically work but the gauges that have 3 wires coming from the senders don't work because they use a +5v reference which the Progauge can't reproduce.

Hi.

I was just wondering if you were going to add Grid Autosport support.

It is still using the Ego engine so it should be the same as the other codemasters games like Dirt/Grid/F1

I have pre-ordered my copy of Grid and I would really like to use my gauges with it.

It is released on the 27th of june.

I just made a request on the Steam forum.

If everyone could jump on there and say that they want telemetry also then it is more likely that the Devs will add it to the final game.

I am pretty sure Next Car Game doesn't have any telemetry output.

With out telemetry data then there is no way to get it to work with any of the symprojects gear.

Since it is Early-Access there is a chance that they might add telemetry data. They do seem pretty open to adding new features. I asked them to increase the controller limit and they have.

Here is a video of my Next Car Game setup running triples, wheel and shifters etc.

Has anyone put a flip switch between the plug and the board to turn off power at night?
What does everyone do to kill power when your away?

Thanks
Loony

Nice setup.

As I said in my other post, wire a switch in to the ignition +12v of you gauges. This will allow you to turn the gauges on and off but still keep the board powered on. Make sure you wire the permanent +12v directly to the gauges and run the ignition +12v through the switch.

Here is a video of my rig, you can see me flick the flip switch to turn my gauges on.

If I am not using my rig for a while then I turn it off at the wall.
