General Discussions / Re: rev burner 12k rpm with V8?

Thanks for the quick reply!

So if I understand correctly, pretty much any electronic tachometer will work. If I have a 8 cylinder tachometer that goes to 8000, I can still use it without the needle "topping out", right? The actual displayed revs are not so important.

I am planning to get an oil and water gauge to also go on the dash. I understand there is still no hardware to power these for simulation, but is it possible to get power to light them as well as the tachometer from the rev burner?

Hello,

I am considering getting the rev burner to use with the Lotus 79 in iracing. But I am a little concerned that the product description says it is only for up to 8'000 rpm with 8 cylinder engines, while the lotus has 12'000 rpm tach. Is it possible to calibrate so that let's say a 10'000 rpm sim output is displayed as 7'000 rpm in the sim. And/or should I make a separate profile and shift light point for each car I use?
