This may not help but........if your Win7 is 64bit....

I found a patch (4gb_patch.exe) in the misc files folder of the new Historix mod (V1.9) and a text file which reads.....

"32 bit programs can't be loaded to the highest section of the RAM on Windows 7 x64 systems. They are kept below the 3.5GB RAM limit that 32bit OS have, even if Windows 7 x64 can use more memory.
This program will allow you to patch rFactor (or any other .exe file) so Windows 7 x64 systems can load it over that 3.5GB RAM limit. Otherwise if you load too many cars the game may crash to desktop with a C++ runtime error.
If you're not using Windows 7 x64 there's no need to use this patch.
Please note this patch will not produce mismatches on online sessions. We've been using it during internal testing without problems on that matter.
Just in the case you think it's: no, it'll not crack rFactor
Note: Any problems or issues derived from its use is responsibility solely of the user."

Not sure where else the patch is available, but I can email it if you wan't, it's only 44k

Cheers....

(Edit)  P.S. I should mention that my rFactor wasn't crashing before I aplied the patch to it's .exe but there arn't any side effects either
and it seems to be loading faster too (game & tracks)

I have used rFactor recognising 4 controllers, so it may be that Windows is at fault....

The order in which Windows organises the various controllers is the way rFactor sees them so plug in a new one and windows might put that first and bump your wheel down a spot...

Your wheel may now be controller 2 instead of controller 1 and rFactor may be looking at the wrong board

rFactor only allows you to adjust sensitivity & deadzone on the first two devices that windows offers it, but it will recognise button pushes as inputs from multiple (other) controllers

Hope that helps, Cheers.......

Please resolve the following:

A newer version of Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable has been detected on the machine.  ???

I almost installed the latest version of SimDash the other day, but not quite....

I've just started back working on my "rig" again after an 18mth break from all things sim related, and it's just a pile of parts in the middle of the room so I'm kinda thinking it's not a real urgent problem right now, or even soon! lol

I'll be adding a SimScreen and a Pro Shift (or two) to my build this time round and look forward to any thing new that may arrive.....

Cheers
