Thanks Cristiano, you're right I haven't yet tried those permutations so I will do these tests when I get chance.

is there any known problem with the Pro Race and Windows 10 64 and/or Automobilista?

I have recently started getting giant freezes during racing - the whole game just locks up for around 8 seconds at random times, making racing almost impossible.

I don't know if it has been caused by Windows 10, which I installed in the last couple of months, or one of the many updates to the Automobilista game.

I have tried removing all controllers, and then plugging them back in one by one.
I can't be 100% sure as the problem is a bit random, but it seems to be working fine with my G27 wheel and my JC32 DIY button box, but when I plug the ProRace back in, the game freeze happens within the first few minutes of driving.

Thought I'd report it in case there is anything known about this, or in case there might be a fix.

I'm not sure of my ProRace version but I bought it back in 2011/12 if that helps determine it's version? Is there any way to update firmware?

At least I've already had good use out of it, but it's just a bit disappointing as AMS is the only race sim I use, so I now have to get used to racing without my display. (Glad I've still got the button box though :)  )

Cheers :)

Yep, position is now correct, thank you very much for adding this.

I hate to add a further report, maybe this data is also reported wrongly by the game, but I also noticed some errors in the lap times that are being displayed. I can't see a particular pattern except to say that the 'last lap' display is always different to the on screen times, usually only by a small amount, less than a tenth; and 'best lap' is not showing on the ProRace at all (noticed this in practice, maybe it only appears during a race?).

That's great thanks,
I'll give it a try later :)

Questions about specific simulators / F1 2016 & Pro Race - Position error
« on: September 18, 2017, 03:59:03 pm »
Hi Cristiano,
just wanted to report, don't know if you or anyone else has seen this error, but I am noticing that in F1 2016, career mode, the 'position' on my ProRace is always out by one place. (I am using SimDash 16)

I don't know if that is something that can be fixed in Simdash or an error in the data output of the game?

So for example, if the game says I am in position 5, then the ProRace display tells me I am in position 4. (I think it's that way round. Anyway it is always out by one).

Thanks Cristiano,
I realised later that I should have checked that document first, sorry.
But if it is possible to add delta for AMS in future, it would be much appreciated :)

hi Cristiano,

I just realised that you've added a 'delta' feature into SimDash/ProRace, but I thought I should tell you that it is not working in Automobilista. (SimDash 15). I'm not sure if it us supposed to work though?
I'm pretty sure that the delta information is available in the game but it is not showing on the ProRace dash, I just get zeroes displayed.

Is there any chance you could take a look please, it would be great to have the delta displaying on my wheel.

Many Thanks :)

I just checked a couple of other games.

Codemasters F1 2016 seems to be working fine. (I start SimDash, ProRace display is blank at first, but then lights up as soon as F1 2016 is started).

But Automobilista (and Automobilista Beta) and rFactor 2 all have the problem:

I start SimDash15, and the display remains blank.
I start Automobilista, and the display still remains blank.
I then have to alt/tab out of Automobilista and go to the SimDash main tab, then where it says ProRace Connected I hit 'configure', then 'cancel', and the display lights up.
Then I can alt/tab back into game and all is well.

rFactor 2 is the same - I have to AltTab out, go to SimDash / configure / cancel, the display then lights up and I can then AltTab back into rF2.

I have also just tried uninstalling SimDash and reinstalling, but it's still the same.

As I said, it's not a big deal as it works fine once I have done this, but I thought I should report it as it did not used to do this with ver 10 or earlier.

Hi Cristiano,
it's Automobilista that I am seeing this in, thanks for checking this out.

Also, just to correct what I originally reported, it's not the plugin configuration, actually I have to click on 'configure' on the main tab, which takes you to the brightness and data tabs, and then the pro race display lights up.

Here's an example of what usually happens as I did not describe it correctly at first.
I start SimDash15, and the display remains unlit.
I start Automobilista, and the display still remains unlit.
I alt/tab out and go to the main tab in SimDash, hit 'configure', then 'cancel', and the display lights up.
Then I can alt/tab back into game and all is well.
I hope that is of help.

Many thanks,

Hi Cristiano,
There seems to be a small problem with SimDash 15 on my ProRace display.

I used to be able to alt-tab out of a game and the display would still be there when I went back into the game.

But now, if I alt-tab out of the game, the display goes blank, so before I return to the game I have to go back to SimDash, click on 'configure plugin', 'ok', then the display returns and works again.

It's a minor thing but it has never been like this before (I was using Simdash 10 up till recently, so this might have appeared anywhere between ver 11 & 15).

Yes, use SimDash.

Just configure the dash and shift lights however you want, then in the menu, select 'export', (save it in the name of the car).
Then create another profile and save that one in the name of the next car.

Then just use 'import' to load in a profile.

Great stuff, thanks Cristiano :)

Cristiano has replied to my email - American Truck Sim will be in next release of simdash, and he will also add Automobilista when it is released :)

He is missed on this forum but it's reassuring that he replied quickly to my emails.

Haven't tried yet, but usually works by changing the name of the exe (try changing the amtrucks.exe to eurotrucks2.exe).

But I really hope Cristiano will read this forum and update for American Truck Sim AND Automobilista. Would be sad to see my prorace dash become obsolete any time soon. :(

I had a similar problem with v5 I think it was. I reported it and went back to v4 which I have stayed on since.

Thanks for posting this, I won't bother with v7 if it has the same problem, but maybe I will try v6 as I never got round to installing that one.
