General Discussions / Gap readouts disappearing - SOLVED
« on: March 27, 2013, 02:09:03 pm »
Cristiano, I wonder if you can tell me why this is happening?

I am using the pro race display, powered by Simdash 1.4.1, in Game Stock Car.

The problem part is the 'gap to next car' and 'gap to leader'.

First, everything worked fine.
Then, at some point, these two displays stopped working, all other readouts were fine.
I then discovered that, at the start of the formation lap, the two readouts work ok, but if I skip the formation lap they both stop working, while everything else continues to work.

I made a new profile (.plr file) & started a new season, and the two readouts then worked again fully. Even if i skipped the formation lap, it all continued to work. I was happy again. :)

But now the same thing has happened again. I am on my 4th race of a new season, and at the start of the race, if I skip the formation lap, the 'next' and 'leader' displays disappear.

What have I changed in my plr file or elsewhere to cause this to happen, have you any idea what might trigger it?

I am editing many files to get the AI running well, so I cannot pinpoint what has caused it, so I am hoping you might be able to suggest what would trigger this?

Many thanks
Keith

I have simdash 1.4.1 and FTruck 1.01.

It is installed in C:\FTruck, not c:\program files... as that can often cause problems.

I can see no other reason why it would not work.

Don't mean to ask a stupid question, but are you definitely starting the program with the 'new' gsc.exe, and not an old shortcut or something like that?

That is strange, it worked straight away for me.
1) rename Ftruck.exe to gsc.exe
2) start simdash, and goto the simulators tab, click on 'configure' for GSC in the menu. Make sure you select your correct installation folder for FTruck.

That should be all there is to it.

?

Cristiano,
see my previous post, it DOES seem to work fully if you rename the exe file to gsc, but it would obviously be good if you could include it correctly in a future update, thanks :)

Benjihunter, I got it working!
Cristiano, I hope you can include Formula Truck properly in an update to SimDash, but in the meantime, it does work if you change the Ftruck.exe file name to gsc.exe

Hi Cristiano,
here's another title that should be released very soon, (delayed but could be released any day now) could you take a look at implementing Sim Dash when it is released?

Thank you :)

I think if you use the config software, in the buttons tab you can change (raise) the polling interval of the buttons, so that it does not read the button presses as often. Try different settings there and see if it cures the problem :)

No but I will have a try when I get chance tomorrow. Please post info if you get it working well, as any racepro setup info is appreciated :)

Cristiano,
again I am sorry to bother you, but I have tested another little program (real time telemetry by Dingosead, downloaded from nogripracing), and it is putting out pit limiter & pit request data along with lap times and other info, from SimBins Race On.
Please please could you take a look at the latest version of Race On when you get time, and update it to include any extra data. This has been my favourite race sim for several years and I would really like to get the maximum out of it on the prorace dash.
Thank you again,
Keith

Thanks again Cristiano, I think I'll try installing my offline DVD version of Race On and see if I get the same data as GT Legends. :)

Hi Cristiano,
I ordered a JC32 yesterday, and was just wondering how long it normally takes to the UK please?
(What country are you in, by the way?)  :)
Many thanks
Keith

EDIT thought I should just add to this by saying thank you for such a fast service - I was very surprised to receive my controller board in only a few days - it is now succesfully installed in my DIY button box :)

General Discussions / Race On & GT Legends - does anyone know why.....
« on: January 14, 2013, 04:49:42 pm »
Hi, I'm having great fun with the Pro Race display, but I wonder if anyone can help?
The sim data sheet shows that some features work in Race On and GT Legends but are experimental i.e. may not actually work.
I find that the pit limiter, ignition light, and max revs light, all work ok in GTL, but do not work in Race On. I'd really like to get them working in Race On as well.
1) I was wondering, as both games are from SimBin, do they put out similar data, and in the same way?
2) Is it possible to edit any of the files to make more of this data function in Race On (or indeed in both games)?
3) Is it better to have offline versions installed instead of steam versions, or does it make no difference ?

If anyone has discovered any tweaks that increase functionality in these games, please share them here,
cheers :)
Keith

Cristiano, just to update you, Etienne at Nitro Stunt racer forum has confirmed that the data export is disabled in the latest version of the game, but it will be reactivated in the next update :)

No, nothing showing in the view...Data screen.
Thanks, I will contact the NSR support and ask them as you suggest,
Keith
