General Discussions / looking to add some gauges to my dashboard
« on: July 13, 2017, 05:43:08 pm »
Been some time since I have done any sim racing but looking to get back into it and with that comes tinkering with my cockpit.  currently I have a progauge with tach, speedo, oil temp and water temp.  I have Project cars, Assetto Corsa and RFactor2 any other gauges you would recommend to add, I was thinking fuel level, oil pressure, turbo (Assetto/ boost or PSI?). any help would be great.  FYI i have the Dragon gauges for the water and temp currently.

the switch did not come with any documentation.  currently i have it wired up with to the pro race with the ground and the positive, I have not attempted to wire it up any other way.
I could try to see what results i get.

So I have a Pro Race with the button adapter and a Toggle Switch
http://www.ebay.com/itm/6-pcs-Toggle-Switch-with-White-LED-Fog-Light-/331030404829?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4d12f31edd

Can someone tell me how to wire this switch and supply power to the LED while still having the switch work with the Pro Race button portion of the board (when the switch is in the "on" position it represents a button press)

My last attempt at asking this was not helpful to me ( my fault wiring and electronic not my strong point) and I believe the people on this forum were trying to set up the switch as a supply power (on) no power (off).

any issues with changing the values on the gauges, I noticed that you changed the RPM to 1200 max vs what they were stock?  I have a pair of Civic gauges and would like to add to the RPMs from 9000 to maybe 1200. not sure if going up will cause any issues or is it all in the way you configure it in the software.

did I read somewhere in this form that you can use a pc power supply and connect them to the terminals on the board and run it that way?

boy I am getting in over my head i think, Sorry H.Guedes, that didnt help at all. cant figure out your scheme, I guess my question would be if I wire up my switch the way Jarden suggests with a separate power source for the light.

OK so what I can understand is that I wire up the switch as I would a button and add a separate 12 volt source to the "+" terminal and have the ground from that 12 volt source ground elsewhere

What wheel are you planning on using in your cockpit?

Here is sheme how to connect

 ;)

I figured that much but I wanted to know in relation to the Pro Race/button adapter, is there 12volt on the board.  Ideally I would like to be able to use this switch as a On/Off switch and have the light turn off and on. so as a basic toggle, but the switch itself requires voltage to power the light correct?

I have received my Pro Race and from what I can see everything is working, but my question fals on the button adaptor and a safety toggle switch that I have, the switch is from ebay

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Flip-Safety-Cover-Blue-Led-Car-12v-Toggle-Switch-BS1-/170711139955?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item27bf2d4673

my question is there a way to wire up the switch and have the LED work at the same time with the pro race, I believe the last time I tried to wire this switch up with a Leo board I fried a portion of the board.
