ProGauge problem
« on: September 15, 2013, 08:29:31 pm »
Im having an issue with my progauge board.

s3 and s6 dont seem to work correctly.

I have 4 Clocks running on the progauge. fuel, oil temp, oil pressure , water temp

i got  hold of another oil pressure which i intended to use for fuel pressure this is where the issue began.

I can configure the gauge correctly in simdash the gauge moves through all of its range correctly. in either s3 or s6

However when i go into game the gauge fails to read. so i thought i had a faulty gauge. so i tried my other oil pressure gauge which i know works.

It still wasnt working in s3 or s6. I could config it simdash but in game the gauge failed to move ( this is with a fully tested working gauge as i can put it back into  s1,2,4, or 5 and the gauge functions correctly)

No matter what i set any gauge to read if its in s3 or s6 it fails to move in game but configures fine in simdash.

this happens with every gauge ive tried including my working ones from s1 s2 s4 and s5.

not sure what the problem is as they configure fine in simdash.

It looks like it is a bug in the software because if the gauge moves when you configure it, the hardware should be ok.

Did you say the problem with S3 and S6 is still there even if you disply water temp. onthe gauge for example?

I am having exactly the same problem with three spek gauges and honestly just gave up.

They all work in the config software but in iracing/rfactor they fail to all work

it must be a bug somewhere. if the gauges work when you calibrate them, it's good news, it means there are no problems with the hardware.

I would like to investigate the problem if you want.
would you send me your SimDash configuration file (File -> Export settings... menu) so that I can see how the Pro-Gauge is configured and try to reproduce the problem? does the gauge move at all when you play?

Thanks
Cristiano

Hi.
Do you enable the ENABLE checkbox for the gauge in the configuration screen?

it is marked with 1 in this picture:

http://www.symprojects.com/wp-content/uploads/ProGauge_111D9/ProGaugeGauge.png

because from the configuration file you sent me it looks like gauges 3 and 6 were disabled.

I have changed them to ENABLED in the attached config file that you can try to import.

regards
