rotary encoder not working on jc32 joystick controller
« on: August 17, 2013, 05:46:27 pm »
hi and need some help please.

i have a new jc32 controller and the rotary encoders are not working correctly..i think.

i have an encoder wired into pins 1&2 and the middle pin wired to ground.

i have used the config tool to set pins 1&2 to encoder.

when i move the encoder it does not signal every click,it is 11 00 11 00 if that makes sense,i have tested in windows joystick applet and confirms this, also in game.

if i open the debug window in the config tool the encoder is 1111111 so its showing as working there in both directions..but not in any game or windows

any ideas?

Hello.
when you open the Debug windows in the configuration tool and rotate the encoder clockwise, does the window display that button 2 is pressed?

and that button 1 is pressed when you rotate the rotary encoder anti-clockwise?
the windows joystick applet is not very good for checking if a button is pressed or not, because pressed are very fast and often you can't see them.
you should use the debug window in the configuration tool instead.
