Where to connect middle pin of encoder to button adapter?
« on: August 21, 2013, 10:07:55 pm »
Hi,

I'm sure this is a silly question with an obvious answer. The connecting pins on the pro race button adapter are in pairs but the rotary encoders have three pins.

I know it's the middle pin of the encoders that need to go to somewhere else but where on the button adapter?

Many thanks,

Rob. :)

Hi.
not a silly question at all. I should make it more clear.

say that the rotary encoder is connected to buttons 1 & 2 of the button adapter.
the external pins of the rotary encoder connect to the pins on the top of the pairs 1&2 on the button adapter.

the middle pin of the rotary encoder connects to the bottom pin of the pair 1 or to the botton pin of pair 2 on the button adapter. choose one of the 2.

Please let me know if this is too confusing and I will try to explain better.

Regards
Cristiano

That makes sense now, many thanks for your swift response as ever Cristiano, and also thanks for the speed at which you deliver the items when I order stuff, very quick turn around, well done.

(Thanks grum as well for your response).  :)
