SPI-D and GI-MAX & Dirt3

Hello

I got Dirt3 from Steam and in order for my SPI-D and GI-MAX to work I know I have to change this <motion enabled="true" extradata="0" delay="1" port="20777" ip="dbox"/>what I did  but when I get to the finish line the screen goes black and that's it.

I read here in one of the topics that its because of the patch codemasters release so my question is getting the cd version instead of steam version will it fix this problem if I don't download the patch?

Hi Ricky.

Yes, that is a bug in DiRT3 they introduced in the 1.2 patch.

You need to buy they original DVD version, not the Game of the Year edition because that comes with the 1.2 patch already installed.

I run my DiRT 3 using a Pro-gauge, rev burner, 2x sim screens, 8 gauges and a Sim Instruments dash. That all works fine on the original DVD version.

I am pretty sure the complete edition has the patch already installed. When you install the game, check the version of the dirt3_game.exe. If it is 1.0 or 1.1 then you are sweet. If it is 1.2 then you are stuck.

It took me ages to find an original DVD version.

Oh man that's not good...
On my steam version I've download the patch v1.1,actually I found the link here on this forum but after I do the pact and change the settings when I start the game it overwrites the file to the way it was before.

I got my cd version today and on the dirt3_game.exe says V1 but the game still crashes
