Problem with Max Gear Display & iRacing

Just recieved the Max Gear display - have a problem I can't solve.

1. It works perfectly in rFactor under all conditions, shines bright, accurate gear changes in every mod I've tried so far, etc etc etc.

2. It will not function reliably in iRacing:

A: It conflicts with my SLI-M, which I DEFINTELY need because of steer wheel buttons

B: The MAX seems to have trouble deciding what proxy it wants and when it will "decide" to work.

C: First time in IR it works OK, and, sometimes with the SLI

D: BUT, if you leave a test session or race, it will NOT function again unless I completely exit IR, and change fm one proxy to the other (even this is not consistant).

E: It seems to conflict with the SLI, but on occasion both have worked together.

F: There seems to be no "pattern" to help decide when it will or will not function.

PLEASE advise on the above, what I may be doing wrong or any fix you can suggest.

I don't have iRacing, so my knowledge and understanding are limited on the subject. I do have one question.

Leo's SLI boards use a management application from EK Simracing, this same vendor has an iRacing proxy(iRPS) on their website. Do you have this installed?

Both the SLI Manager and SimDash can apparently use the iRPS proxy, however it needs to be installed and started separately.


The proxy allows multiple devices to access the data from iRacing. Without it, connecting both the SLI-M and the GI Max at the same time will most likely be difficult, if not impossible.

IRacing only allows 1 external application to connect, so is is SimDash or the Sli-Peo Manager.

A data prota is an application that sits between the simulator and the external applications. It reads the data from IRacing and forward it to the multiple external applications.
There are two  data proxies for IRacing: IWrap (open source) and iRPS. SimDash supports both. I don't remember if the Sli-Pro manager does.

The iRPS definitely will work. It must be configured in the IRacing plugin's configuration screen. The Sli-pro manager must also be configured to use the proxy.
