GI-Max and SPI-D new but not working.

I just plugged them in and no lights, no indicators at all.  SimDash recognizes when I start iRacing but when I click on configure for the GI-Max and SPI-D the SPI-D says either the device isn't connected or I need a firmware update.  I updated the firmware to the SPI-Dv3 but nothing changed.

My pc sees both the devices but lists them under the category of Unspecified.

Does SimDash show red or green lights for the devices when they are connected?

Can you do the following please:

Open the folder where SimDash is installed. Usually it is C:\Program Files (x86)\SymProjects\SimDash.1.3.5

Edit the file SimDash.exe.config and change this line:

<level value="ERROR"/>

to:

<level value="ALL"/>

Save and close the file.
Connect the devices and start SimDash. Close SimDash after few seconds.

Now in the SImDash folder there is a file with name SimDashLog.txt

Send that file to me please. it contains information on what SimDash is doing and it will help me understand what the problem is.

I keep getting "saved failed"  "please check to see if another program has this file open"  SimDash is closed and the devices are unplugged when i try to save it.

So i saved it to a different location and copied it into the folder and that worked but after doing the steps I didn't get a log file.

It seems you have a privileges problem because you can't create a file on the disk and probably for the same reason SimDash can't open a communication  channel to the devices.

I would try to do this:

open the folder where SimDash is installed.
Right-click SimDash.exe and select "Run as administrator"

Does it work now?
