My Rig #1
« on: December 19, 2011, 03:44:22 am »
Hi guys,

I began researching rigs in January of 2010 and it really opened my eyes to the possibilities out there. Myself and two friends built the frame over a two month period putting in a couple hours here and there. One design that I kept coming back to was the Zalem rig. Built out of the Country of Spain, I liked it's simplicity and it's unique design. The originator had put a blueprint on the net and I modified his plans to suit my own. I would like to thank this gentleman for providing these plans freely to us,  I believe he has updated his design and has had several new versions.

I got my Rev Burner and GI Max a week or two ago and have my tach running smoothly. My rig has been a WIP for some time now (aren't they always) I wanted to share some photos of it with you. BTW I want to order another rev burner for a Speedometer but finding a suitable Speedometer is becoming more challenging then I thought. I live in Western Canada in the Province of Alberta, does anyone know where I can find one, even if it has to be shipped?

I have a whole room dedicated to Sim racing, my plan is to have my room painted during the winter and posters and memorabilia put up. The walls are rather barren at the moment.  I am waiting for a Pro sequential shifter and Track Boss Button Box from Derek Speare. At this point the rig has been Powder Coated. I will be building a console along the left side of the rig. Above the keyboard is a 19" monitor with iSpeed telemetry display.

The sound system on rig #1 is built from older components and newer inexpensive components. At the heart of the system is a 12" sub woofer from Velodyne I have a Pioneer VSX-1017TXV-K, A/V amp along with Polk Audio and KEF Speakers. A Dayton APA 150 power amplifier and two Aura bass shakers

I have a second rig from Sim-Seats, it is rather bare at the moment but we use it for the Forza series.

Hello, very impressive rig, and an awesome setup to boot. Though from that sound system I'd gather you either live alone or have some very forgiving residents  ;D

The tachometer appears to be an Autometer unit, have you looked at their range of speedometers? They offer 5" dashboard units which I imagine could be pod mounted as well if you'd like.

Take a look at these. Both the 160MPH and 200MPH electronic units should work with a RevBurner.

Thanks Mortos for the comments and the link. I live with other people but I am the King of the Castle :)  and the room is sound proof or fairly close, you can still hear some bass upstairs, like an earthquake :D
