General Discussions / Progauge and R-34 boost gauge
« on: April 02, 2015, 03:40:21 am »
Hello all,

I had bought a progauge interface card to interface the rest gauge in my R34 project.:)

I'd connected it to the tripple meter( volts/oil temp/boost) and oil temp works well, but the Turbo boost gauge didn't move a bit.

I'd try all 6 jumper settings and still didn't work. XD

Does anyone ever connect progauge to a turbo boost gauge?

General Discussions / Some question

I would like to ask some question:

1.Since the release of Pro Gauge, does the possible of 2nd meter support for Rev burner is gone?:P

2.How many gauge a Pro gauge card can drive?

Thanks!

I know GRID 2 is not released yet, but I would like to know if it is possible to support it.:D

I guess most of codemaster racing games are supported?

exactly.
I at the very beginning but when I have some time available, that's the thing I work on.

Cristiano

Hello Cristiano, how about the progressing of 2nd gauge for Rev burner? I'm still waiting for it:)

GREATTTTTT!!!!

It's too lucky for you to found Dirk's post.  :D

So to the end the problem is output from revburner is 12v/0v but the speed S13 cluster use +2.5V/-2.5V signal...what a different. I'm too lucky that my cluster use 12V/0V.

Thanks for sharing this to all other pit builders! And wish you enjoy great driving time with your S13 cluster!:)

Congratulation!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D

Mind to post out how do you finally made it work for other mates?  ???

Thank you Cristiano! :D

Being a casual race game player, I would like to enjoy the simulated car driving experience with real car gauge/dash boards too...keep racing exhausted for me.:P

Wish someone can write a hook dll and make this to happen someday anyway.:)

Cristiano, I would like to make sure if simdash support TDU2?

Looks like simdash can't detect TDU2 now. ;)

I dissolder all gear position indicator leds and isolate the circuit...the result is nice.:)

Goodluck mate! Looking forward to hear good news from you:)

Yes, but the leds on cluster PCB share negative...so I decide to dissolder them , change to normal 5mm leds with opposite polarity them they share positive.:P

12
What LEDs are you trying to use for the gear position?

There are already 6 gear indicator LEDs soldered in the cluster PCB board. They are big ones (maybe 8mm I guess) and not the removable bulbs been used on other lamps/indicator. So I check the circuit and try to light them directly from harness connector legs (they are connect to gear position switch directly, not MCU) but failed.

Because these LEDs are shared negative, I think the best way is remove them and soldner some 5mm LEDs( fit to pro shift) with polarity opposite. Will test this when I have time:)

Thank you Cristiano!

Now rev burner can drive my speedo to max in only 36600. I just need to deal with the gear position indicator LEDs ( can'r light them by Pro shift, maybe need higher voltages. Normal LEDs works with Pro shift) and i will get a perfect result I dream of.

Thanks for your great customer service and making ourracing life more joyful!

Hello mate,

I'd make a little search on net and find the S13 speedo is a fairly special one. :-\

There are 2 type of speedo meter in S13 series, Digital and analog (Your cluster looks like analog type). The speedo is eay to damage and the only way is to replacement it with a aftermarket one etc...

For the current condition, I think you can try to find out what does conector [6] and [12] are used for and test them. Connector [7] are used for S15 cluster to S13 only and could be not compatible to rev burner. There must be a traditional singal input connectors...

I will check that excel file again when I back home. Not sure if [6] and [12] are speed signal related although...

My advice is: I'm not sure, you must check the manual by yourself.

The clocks should be self-powered because I guess it's part of ECUs like the odo meter in my R34 cluster. You can try power the ECU first and see if the clock go live.

In my experience, ECU will power all meter without you give them +12V, but some lamps need to fill some condition to light.

For a example, if connector X have +5V current supply, lamp Y will light. I'm not sure these lamps need more power, you need to test them by yourself...with certain risks.

And for most lamps that use removable bulbs, I will suggest you remove them and replacement by some LEDs that controled directly by Pro shift or other control cards. This make the work more easily because you don't need to mess with ECUs.
