i don't i'm afraid. used to in my younger days. i'm not sure you could get it done cheaper than doing it yourself. it's not too big and it doesn't appear to have any compound curves so it shouldn't take too long.
oh, and it was me assuming the gauges and dash were the same from your airbrushed illustrations. i blame you though for lacing your posts with such delicious illustrations and piccies, it makes it too easy to miss or miss read any bits of text that separate them ;).

ahh. your first post said about making it from fibreglass.
i run my own lathe and milling machines, welding sets and all that (welder/fabricator by trade, but i prefer the old "boilermaker" title), and i also run a 3d printer, and the printer runs more than the other machines at the moment. so if you require anything gimme a shout or pm.

anyway, its a well thought out design, and i can't wait to see your design finished.

a very nice design dude.
i know you said about building it from fibreglass, but is there any reason you don't get it 3d printed instead?

keep up the beautiful work.

red light means its *not* working. green light means it is.
did simdash auto download the extras it needs, when you installed simdash?
try a different usb cable and socket to rule them out.
if still the same email cristiano

hi cristiano, the new version of simdash seemed to fix the issue... until tonight, and all i get is a windows "usb device not recognised" message.
changing usb socket and cable makes no difference, looks like its dead. it still displays the standard simscreen display, just windows doesnt know what to do with it. all my other simprojects devices work fine.

Hello

I copied the modified file to a new folder. Extracted all contents, named it simdash2.

I started simdash through the desktop icon and when I got to the configure screen and tried to exit it froze just as usual. The simscreen is not reactive to button prompts, it only shows the flash screen and none of the saved screens that have been downloaded and are showing in the config screen.

I checked the modified file and I show no text log file....ONLY in the original simdash file.

Thanks, I would appreciate any further input.

what happens when you go into that new folder (simdash2) and you click on the exe file? i mean don't use the desktop shortcut which is likely still linking to the original simdash.exe.
BTW, what does happen when you try to close simdash via ctrl+alt+del?

When I open simdash configure screen it will not allow me to close. Only method is to log off, or restart.

this is the symptom i suffered from before realising the problem.
doesn't pressing ctrl-alt-del allow you to kill the simdash.exe process, or must you logoff/restart?

just as a small update, the unplug/replug before starting simdash has stopped working. now i have to start simdash, wait for it to fail loading the simscreen, hit ctrl-alt-del, close the simdash.exe process and then unplug the simscreen usb, replug and then it works. occasionally it fails again, and i have to do it a second time.

General Discussions / Re: Problem with Simscreen -> freezing the SimDash
« on: February 27, 2012, 02:15:35 pm »
i have the same issue, and i remedy it by unplugging the simscreen, and plugging in again, before starting simdash.

@Cristiano.
when i cold boot my pc and before i start simdash i unplug and plug back in the simscreen usb connector, then i start simdash and the simscreen displays my screens fine. it continues to work if i restart simdash or do a reboot. if i shutdown the pc and do a cold boot i have to redo the above. i thought it might be a usb port issue, but i have tried the simscreen in every usb port on my pc and it makes no difference. although i must add it doesn't seem to be directly a simdash issue, as mine had worked fine for months and then started to play up (without changes to simdash version). i kinda wondered if it were more a .net issue.

edit. i forgot to mention that the simdash indicator for simscreen is orange for 2-3 seconds before turning green when it's not working right. when doing it as i said above the indicator shows orange for a much shorter time.
