General Discussions / Removing Pro Shift controller function?
« on: November 14, 2012, 03:14:36 am »
Hi,

I know that there has been different upgrades to the firmware of Pro Shift. First introduce the controller functionality and then removing the duplicate controller display that appeared on some games, limiting the amount of controllers that a sim could detect. Now I wonder if there is a possibility that if there is a firmware update that would not only disable the controller function on the Pro Shift, but also so that it does not appear on Windows (and sims) as a controller. Basically that the software does not recognize it as a controller even if the controller functionality has been disabled. This would definitely help for those sims that controller detection is limited to four.

Thanks.

I know that most of the time we spend building these things is mostly to help enhance our sim racing experience. However, I think that from time to time we need a little bit of relaxation time. Is it possible to add Euro Truck Simulator (1&2) to the list of supported games by Symprojects?

I know this may be an odd request, but I think its worth.  8)

The RPM% now works appropriately on iRacing, so less hassle for me when it comes to change profiles. Gotta test the throttle and brake on the SimScreen on RACE 07 now.

Just to confirm, the latest firmware works and solves the problem with the Pro Shift showing as two controllers. Now it only appears as one controller. Thanks Cristiano for the continuous support of your products. Definitely makes it easier to promote and recommend them.

General Discussions / Pro Shift showing as two controllers
« on: October 17, 2012, 03:13:49 pm »
Something I noticed while playing RACE 07. The Pro Shift appears as two controllers when the firmware that allows to map the buttons is flashed. With the previous firmware it appears as one controller, which is weird since the controller function is not enabled. Because of this if adding an extra controller (pedals, button box, shifter) via USB it will not be available for the game as the controller slots are taken by the keyboard, steering wheel and the "two" Pro Shift.

Is there a firmware that could fix this?

Ok, I know a long time has passed since I posted about this, but I finally got my final setup and ended up reverting the firmware that does not recognize the buttons. While I was doing this I noticed something that might get you an idea if you can solve with some sort of firmware or software upgrade. I noticed this while playing RACE 07, which displays the controllers that are connected to it. I am sure that this is also probably the cause on rFactor.

The sim only recognizes up to four controllers. The keyboard is always registered as one of the controllers. The steering wheel is another controller. The CSR Elite (or CSP) also register as another controller. Now here come the problem. The ProShift displays as a controller, even with the firmware that does not activate the buttons. The real problem comes when I flash the firmware that enables the buttons. For some reason the game registers as if two Pro Shift were connected. As it appears with the explanation before it basically looks like this:

Keyboard
Steering Wheel
Pro Shift
Pro Shift
(Clubsport Pedals do no appear under this configuration)

Without the firmware it looks like this:

Keyboard
Steering Wheel
Pro Shift
Clubsport Pedals

I hope this could give you an idea of what is happening and if there could be a possible solution.

I think the best way to deal with this is to uninstall the Pro Shift and reinstall it again with the steering wheel and pedals connected. That way the PC will always pick it as the third controller. I forgot how to do that thing.

I also have the same problem. I use the Logitech Driving Force GT, CSR Elite Pedals and Pro Shift. Basically most of the games support up to two controllers. What happens is that each of them are recognized as separate controllers in the game. The reason the CSR E is not being recognized in game is because that is the third controller connected to your PC. One way I have found around it is basically plug the Pro Shift after starting the game, making sure that the pedals are recognized before. The LEDs would still be working, but the four buttons would not be functioning. Games like IRacing should not have this problem as they can support up to four separate controllers.

The fuel light is set to turn on, not to blink. Sorry for the misunderstanding. Still, why is it always on?

It worked. They lit progressively and then all blink fast when they reach 99%. However, I also have them to blink normal when the RPM reaches 0 and they are not blinking. Also the fuel % is not working properly. Its always on when I have to lit when the fuel remaining is 10%. The games that I'm playing are RACE 07 and rFactor.

Thanks for the updates. I think you should add the option of dont blink to the option of different blink stages. Like for example, when making a shift array, they dont blink. Mine is set so that when they reach 95% RPM they are all turned on and when they reach 99% RPM another light turns on.It would be nice to have all of them blink when they get to 99% RPM.

I think you can do that.

If you open the DLC-247 configuration dialog and inport the attached file, I have configured a LED to turn on when RPM% is 95 and then it starts blinking fast when RPM% is 99.

I think that is what you would like to do.

regards
Cristiano

Thanks for the update. You really are setting yourself apart by constantly updating your software and innovating with new, easy to use hardware.

I was waiting for the Fuel % option to be added. However, it does not seem to work as the light is always on. The fuel option works as intended, but the fuel % is not working properly. Please verify. Also I agree with the option of assigning multiple options for one LED (RPM & Speed Limiter, for example. The more options the better  ;D)

Thanks.
