« on: February 26, 2012, 05:51:59 pm »
i just tried to flash with the firmware you linked above.
unfortunately the simscreen is not recognized.
no splashscreen on the screen and a red dot in simdash.
bootloader prompted no problems during installing.

i flashed back to the older firmware you gave me last summer. -> http://www.symprojects.com/forum/index.php?topic=170.msg549#msg549
i got the splashscreen back, but keep my initial problem.

the problem continues simdash windows taskmanager is blocked just changing screen size from small Christiano created by trial
simdash close so many times and then work changed 8 socket usb of my pc
 win7 64-bit operating system
 thanks

i have no idea what you are talking about, sorry.

christiano,
i run out of options.
i removed everything simdash related, downloaded 1.3.5 again and installed without any lcd files.
seems to make no change. most of the times i start simdash it freezes.

can be a faulty part on the simscreen pcb cause this? because without the screen connected everything is fine.

@ albymagh
simdash is not blocked in my taskmanager. i can shut it down there.
also i tried different usb ports and even pci cards.
Win7/64 here too.

hi racing friends,

i have a problem with my simscreen.

i use a revburner and a simscreen. they both worked fine for countles hours, be for the last 2 weeks, the simscreen causes the simdash app to freeze. (i tried 1.2 up to 1.3.6 beta)
if i only use the revburner i don´t have a problem. with the SS connected, simdash stops working and freezes.
if i kill the app using the windows taskmanager and restart it, the simscreen sometimes comes back to life (after a couple of tries)
i tried different usb ports, a pci usb-card and different cables and my second PC. no success.
the screen shows the starting screen as usual, so it is powered.

any ideas what could cause this?

General Discussions / RevBurner: Tach set to 4, 6 or 8 ylinder?
« on: November 20, 2011, 04:29:42 pm »
hi guys,

one little question:
is there any benefit regarding response time, accuracy, durability or whatever
when i set my tach to 4, 6 or 8 cylinders? (with the correct simdash config file of course)?

i have an autometer lying around that can be set for different cylinders by cutting wire-loops.
do i get the same results with these 3 options or is it "faster" if i set it to match a 4 Cylinder car because the revburenr board has to generate less pulses per minute? or is it "slower" because of that? or no difference?

thanks in advance,
Heinrich

Question about SimDash v.1.3.4
In the previous version when minimized SimDash was in the system traybar and now it is only in the taskbar.
How can I move in trybar?

hi christiano.

i have the same "problem".
is this just the way simdash is coded or can we send it to the traybar instead of taskbar?

as most of the racing related information cann be seen in the sim,
one "thumbs up" for every "non racin related information" we can display on the simscreen.

thanks cristiano.

hi guys,

as there is not that much to see in the homepage gallery,
i hope it is ok to ask for *lcd-files in the forums.

so let´s share some designs for the SimScreen.

i start with a pretty useless "startscreen", as the motec displays do:

as a second try i made a "replica" of an WRC Ford Focus 03 (driven by Mathew Wilson)

more will follow as soon as the simdash can read more iRacing data.

what do you guys have on your displays?

yes, it is in the actual build.
no restrictions to 1 app and more telemetry output.

so here´s my feedback:

no disconnection issues so far. the firmware seems to work fine.
thanks a lot christiano.

wbr,
markus

btw:
do you have a planned release date for the simdash using the new iRacing API and the system information features you were talking about?
just curious....

hi again.

i tried to update with the firmware you send me in your email.

at the end of the process it showed "programming/verification  -  Failure" or something like this....
does that mean it hasn´t updated or can i just ignore it because of the firmware-beta status?
i can add a screenshot later if you want me to.

the screen works after the update, so it can´t be a complete failure.
i haven´t had the time yet to drive so i can´t decide if the on-off-thing is gone or still there.

i´ll proove that later and give you some feedback.

wbr,
markus

hi cristiano,

yes, i run V1.3.2
but i´ve not upgraded the firmware. i use it as shipped.
iirc i don´t need to upgrade if simdash is showing a device "green". should i try to upgrade the FW?

hi,

my SimScreen worked fine till yesterday.
since then it looses USB-connection. i hear the windows sound for dis- and re-connect and the simdash shows red-green-red-green-...

i put a small vid up on YT:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ONjswVrMdw
sorry for the bad quality. just a cheap cellphone cam, but i think one can see the issue.

i tried different ports and cables. all the same.
crosscheck with a second simscreen: everything fine.

is the hardware broken or could this behavior have antoher reason?

thanks for your replies,
H.

General Discussions / Q about rev-burner for speedos and configuring
« on: February 21, 2011, 05:18:03 pm »
hi folks,

1 thing that i would like to have explained:
let´s say i use a speedo wich goes up to 140 km/h in the real car and i want to use it in the sim:
can i configure the simdash for this speedo that the point wich is 140 km/h represents 350 km/h?
then print a new scale and have a sim-speedo for 0-350 km/h.

is this possible?

edit: sorry for my bad english. i hope i described my question that good that native english speakers can understand it
