Aussie Commodore VT dash
« on: May 25, 2011, 06:30:20 am »
First of all love the new forum and I would like to apologize to Cristiano for not replying to your last email many many months ago. (life got in the way big time)
Just like to let any Aussies on here that I have a VT Commodore Dash working, both Speedo and Tach, only 1 at a time as I need another RevBurner.
I have pinouts available if anyone interested and also .xml settings to save you some work.
To get the Speedo working I had to move the 5v-12v jumper to 12 volts for it to work, kept getting critical error in Simdash software when trying to calibrate.
Heres a quick vid of speedo working and you will also notice the overspeed alert also works which I will adjust as pit speed warning.

Hello.
Congratulations for you dashboard. it looks great.

If you give me more details (here or by email) regard the errors you got with SimDash, I will investigate them.
if it is not going to take too much time, can you post details of the connections?it would be useful for many people.

Thanks

Probably something I was doing wrong, if I didn't unplug the power from the board before disconnecting and reconnecting USB it would not get recognized. Only seemed to happen after flashing to Speedo .hex file.

Anyway heres the pinouts for the VT dash.
If you can't get hold of the genuine plug these plugs http://www.symprojects.com/shop/20-pin-dual-female-splittable-jumper-wire-300mm/ that Symprojects sell fit perfectly, I just used ones from a gutted 386.

Hello,

Fantastic job RT1971. I have just a question for you: Can you take photos of the connector on the back of your Dash please ?
In fact, I want to see if I can use the 20 pin dual female splittable jumper wire for my Alfa 156 Cluster, because I haven't find the connectors...
Thanks.

Bye.
