connection issue with my simdash products
« on: June 29, 2011, 09:53:21 am »
Hi I am having a connection issue with my simdash products and am seeking some help please

Current setup is

Windows 7 Pro 32bit

Sim Dash 3.2.1 all required firmware updated
2 Rev Burners connected to my mondao dash board (big thanks to Cristiano)
1 GI Max
1 SPI-D Speedometer
1 Sim Screen
1 Pro Shift ( rev counter display )

All above are working fanatically without issue , however when I connect my 2nd Pro Shift which I want to use for instrument panel lights I start to lose USB connection intermittently to either the Sim Screen or one of the Rev Burners

I had thought that I might not have enough power serving my USB extender box  so I purchased a 2nd powered USB extender box and divided all my devices between the 2 , but this hasn’t fixed my issue

Kind Regards Terry

Hi.
Does it happen only when you connect the second Pro Shift? And how do the disconnection happen? as soon as the Pro Shift is attached or later on.

The code in SimDash which handles all the USB communications has been completely rewritten in next version and I can send you a test version if you want, as soon as it is in a stable condition.

Thnaks

Hi Crisitano thanks for the quick response , am at work at the moment so can't test but

The first thing I do once my PC is fired up is to run the Sim Dash program if I have the 2nd Pro Shift connected at this time then I get the USB connect then disconnect then re connect then disconnect continually, If I disconnect any of the other devices then the 2nd Pro Shift seems to work ok but this means having to always lose one of my other devices

More than happy to try a beta version of sim dash if you think it might help

Regards Terry

Thanks.
I will investigate and make some tests. I will post the new version of SImDash for testing very soon.
