New iRacing API
« on: July 19, 2011, 03:12:08 pm »
With iRacing's new multiple client API built in, do I still need iWrap or iRPS?

Hello.
The new IRacing's API supports multiple clients so you don't need to use proxies like iWrap or iRPS.

I am going to release a next version of SImDash by the end of July. Still uses the old API.

After that, I will start the work to support the new API and release an upgrade as soon as I have finished.End of August maybe?

Cristiano

I think I'm still a bit confused, do I still use iWrap or iRPS until the end of august when the software gets upgraded. Or are you saying there is a way to use the new built-in API with the current release of simdash?

Thanks,

Cristiano

You have to wait until August.
The current release doesn't release support the new API.
Next release due in 8-10 days won't support the new API.

The following one will support the new API. My plan is to release it as soon as possible.

Thanks
Cristiano

Need for speed shift 2 unleashed the steam version
And also dirt 3 steam version.

I'm extremely looking forward to playing these games with my gi max and tacho.

Please make it happen.

I have another question, I'm trying to get the GiMax to work with iRacing, and it doesn't seem to be working. Do I need iWrap or iRPS even if the GiMax is the only device I'm trying to use?
I have it set on "Don't use proxy/ use iWrap proxy" but its not working in the sim.

I have it set on "Don't use proxy/ use iWrap proxy" but its not working in the sim.

If SimDash is the only application connected to IRacing, you don't need iWrap.

If there are other application, like x-sim or iSpeed, then iWrap is required.

Thats strange, I'm trying it as the only device, but it doesnt work. I downloaded iWrap, I'll try it with that to see if it works later today. I think the new iRacing API stops it from working or something. But it works fine in Dirt 3 using the codemasters proxy.

you could be right. the new APIin IRacing could have broken the new one. I am going to download IRacing next week, because I will investigate the new API. I will also test the old one.

I tried it with iWrap, but still was not able to get it working. So far I haven't been able to get it working at all in iRacing.
Also, is there any plans to add the "Read in-game shift light state" for Dirt 3?

Hi.
Unfortunately the state of the shift light is not available among the data Dirt 3 offers to external applications.
