Lane Change Test integration
« on: January 20, 2014, 09:34:10 pm »
Dear Cristiano

Can I deperately ask for some help please. I am i'm currently making a set of dials for a dashboard that will be used in my self-funded PhD design studies. I have happily used your symprojects parts so far. Please see: http://hutchinsonsimulators.wordpress.com for more details about this. So far they have been used for racing, and I have had many, many hours of enjoyment building and using them.

However, now I have been asked to use a peice of software called Lane Change Test to assess the control some control panels that I have designed. You can see and tryout the software yourself. A link to it is here: http://www.shaunhutchinson.com/LCT.zip

Can you please tell me what I need to do to this software so it will export rev, speed & gear data so I can use it with my SPI-D, Revburners and GI Max.

I think if I can work out how to make this software intergrate with the symprojects gear I can continue to developm my dashboard further, make upgrades, recommend that others use it for there builds.

I have a very low level of programming skill, but I get the feeling that the software is modifiable as I have seen people integrate it into real cars.

Hope you can help.

SHAUN

Hello.
The file you have linked is password protected so I can't open it.
What is it however? is it a simulator?

If it is not a huge amount of work I am happy to help you with the project.
do you know what language has been used to develop the software you have linked?

have you got access to the souce code?

Regards
Cristiano

Hi

Thank you very much for replying. Yes, it is a piece of simulator software. The password for all the zips is 'adam'. The software simulator environment is a road with floor markings and road signs that tell a driver to move from lane to lane. It is free to use.

It is basic but is internationally recognised in the HMI community for the design of interior controls. It was orginally designed by DaimlerChrysler (which is why they use a Mercedes SLK) and then the method was submitted to become an international standard of HMI testing. If it is of interest the ISO number is: ISO ISO 26022: 2010

I'm not sure about the software language or the soucre code. Hopefully the source code can be found in the zips.

I really really hope that this will work or you can work some magic on it because this is my last hope at the moment :\ I will be eternally grateful to you if you can help me.

Hello.
I am sorry to disappoint you but there is no source code in the file.

source code is really needed to make the simulator talk to SimDash.
