ProRace buttons / encoders
« on: February 02, 2014, 05:25:21 pm »
I've tried for 2 days and finally given up, I have a Pro Race dash with 2 encoders connected, they are connected in following manor

encoder - 3 terminals we will call A, B, C.  B = Middle pin

ENC 1 - middle terminal "B" to Pin 1
ENC 2 - middle terminal "B" to Pin 2

ENC 1 -  Terminal "A" has Diode then connects to ENC 2 Terminal "A" (no diode)
ENC 1 -  Terminal "C" has Diode then connects to ENC 2 Terminal "C" (no diode)

All Works fine
I want to connect 2 more encoders & 5 push buttons, I have tried every option but cant get them to work

Questions
Should ENC 2 have diodes ?
Do all PB have to have a diode ?

Hello.
if you have connected rotary encoders, you need to use diodes for all the rotary encoders and push buttons.

have you considered the Button adapter?

http://www.symprojects.com/shop/pro-race-button-adapter/

it makes connections much easier because it has all the diodes soldered on the pcb.
