All in one display
« on: December 08, 2011, 08:39:38 am »
Hi joined up to ask a couple of questions.

Contemplating a couple of your boards, but was just wondering if you have any plans to produce a single board with a number of elements combined on it, like gear indicator, speed, rpm leds, all running from one usb port?

Also I could not find any information about delivery times. Are these products 'in stock' or do you make them to order?

Sorry if the answers are somewhere and I've not looked hard enough.

Cheers

Graham

Graham,
I can offer my personal experience here, only, but I made two orders from SymProjects.  The first order was for two Rev Burners and the second order was for two ProShift boards.  On both occasions, my complete order was shipped out within 24 hours.  I do recall on occasion that there is a note when ordering when an item was not currently in stock.  I am on the East coast of the US, and it generally took 7 working days to receive my order.  Very quick.  Hope this helps.  I too would be interested to hear if an All-in-One display is in the works!

The all-in-one controller is basically ready for release.

it is called DLC-247 and is able to drive up to 24 7-segment display or up to 192 LEDs. Or a combination of displays and LEDs.

You choose what to use the displays for: it can be the gear position, the speed, rpm, fuel, water temp, lap time etc... Basically every data item that is available for the game can be displayed with the DLC-247.

Virtually any 7-segment display can be used, any size or colour. But they must be common-anode.

I will also offer some displays of different sizes, with the pcb and all the wires required for the connections, to make the life easier.

I hope to release the DLC-247 by the end of next week.

Regards
Cristiano

Thanks for the info HKanaya.

Cristiano, that DLC-247 sounds really interesting, might just have to delay my order until it is available.
Don't suppose you could give an indication of approximate cost ?

Thanks
Graham

This is very good news, I'll probably order one when it comes out. Now all I need is that aux gauge controller for fuel/boost ;D

Though what happened to the naming scheme? I'm assuming 247 stands for the 24 7 segment displays, but it's not nearly as catchy as "Revburner" or "ProShift".

I had finished all the possible combinations of the words:  shift rev max pro gi

How about "ProShift Max", as it's pretty much a ProShift board with more outputs and software/firmware support for 7 seg displays.

It doesn't really matter of course, it's the quality of the products and the software people appreciate. And for which I am most grateful. ;)

Just noticed this was now available  :o Order placed  ;D

You really should have made more of an announcement, because as I see it this is a very competitive product  ;D

Kudos to you.

I am impressed.  ;D

DLC-247 arrived today, very well packaged.

Had a very quick play (not easy as I've sold my wheel, and have to wait 3 days for my new one  ;) ), the instructions were quite easy to follow and in no time I had a gear indicator and speedo working great in Shift 2.  I did managed to reverse a set of pins which really gives some strange numbers  :D but spotted that quickly and all was fine.

Not tried attaching all the individual LEDs I ordered yet to make a rev light, but should be easy enough if my experiences so far are anything to go by.

Great product Cristiano, and great service. Many thanks.
