Which Clusters/Speedos will work?
« on: December 29, 2011, 10:49:43 am »
Hi guys
Can anyone give me and the rest of us a idea of what clusters will work with a rev burner? I got myself a nice Jag XJR cluster but it won't work as it requires a 5v signal and the rev burner outputs a 12v.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Ricky

Do you know which revision of the RevBurner you have? The earliest model only had a 5v signal, however revision 2 added electronics and a jumper to switch to a 12v signal.

On the Rev. 2 board, there are two jumpers; J1 for firmware upgrades and J2 to set the output signal voltage. The label next to J2 should indicate the voltage corresponding with the position of the jumper.

It could be that later revisions excluded jumpers altogether, as products like the Pro Shift merely have holes to connect together when updating the firmware.

Hi, one is a Rev 2, I see a jumper on it says 5v-12v. So does that mean if I remove the jumper it will be 5v? The other that i just got today is a rev 4, no jumpers and only one set of holes for programming.

Thanks

Hello.
The jumper doesn't have to be removed but moved (from 12V to 5V or vice versa).

Thanks, I figured that out just after I posted my last comment, typical lol. Still no go, was actually on 5v already and didn't realise it. Tried upgrading the firmware to try the speedo with the new rev burner but that still didn't work. Starting to think I'm not feeding the right signal into it. The cluster has a couple of networks running through it so I guess it needs another signal from there, oh well I'll keep looking for another one.
