Couple of Sim Dash suggestions.
« on: January 05, 2012, 08:30:59 am »
Me again.

Got a couple of suggestions for the Sim Dash software that I feel would be good if it is feasable. Obviously I'm basing my thoughts on the DLC-247 side of things as I dont have any of your other boards, but it might apply there too.

Firstly would it be possible to have a number of saved 'profiles' on a per game basis. I mainly play GTR2, GTL and Shift 2 and obviously the amount of data output differs vastly between the GT series and Shift, so it means rather than using an RPM% (the obvious choice where different cars are driven) for my shift light array I have to change all the values to be RPM if I want to play Shift 2.

Secondly would it be possible to force certain figures that the game does not output and have Sim Dash do the calculations. i.e. have a Max RPM parameter saved and if the game does not output RPM% have Sim dash do a quick calculation based on that parameter and the current RPM to calculate RPM%, that way a lot less reconfiguring would be required from game to game especially where shift light arrays are concerned. I can't imagine that such a simple calculation would introduce any noticable lag in the display of information. Actually this would also render my first point above less necessary as the shift lights could stay at RPM% all the time.

Anyway just a couple of thoughts.

Hello.
Thank you for your suggestion.

I am already working on the first feature (profiles) and the second one is interesting too. I will think what the best way of implementing it could be.

Thank you
Cristiano
