swapping out LEDs onr Type R tach

I would like to swap out the stock blue LEDs with some super brights and I wanted to confirm it is a plain swap and I don't need to do anything different. IE remove resistors or add any.

Or should I change the tach to a super bright red to mach the GI Max?

I think you can just replace the LEDs. is it for the shift light or the backlight?
