DLC-247 LED problem
« on: July 15, 2012, 08:01:37 pm »
Greetings all,

This weekend ive been working on my newly delivered DLC-247 board. Speed and Gear Position works perfectly and im impressed.
The LED side of things hasn't gone so well and im not sure what the problem is. Ive connected the LED'S as described in the config document and they seem to work ok using the SimDash config test button. However in Race07 or Rfactor they refuse to work. The first 8 are connected to connector c pins 1-8 the second 5 are connected to pins 9-13. Both sets share a common onto pin 20. Ill attach the xml file if it helps.

Anyone any ideas why they wont display in game ??  ???

Mucho thanks..

Pete

Hello.
If the LEDs turn on when you test them with SImDash, that suggests me they are connected properly and the problem is with the software configuration.

I quickly checked your configuration file and I noticed that the first 8 LEDs are configured to switch on when RPM% is =10, =20, =30...

Probably you want to switch the LEDs on when RPM is >10, >20, >30... (note I used > instead or =)
Because if you set =10 instead of >10, the LEDs will turn on just for a moment, when RPM% is exactly 10% and then switch off when RPM% increases or decreases.

I think that is the problem you have.

Well tried a few things you suggested and hey presto the RPm led's work like a dream, the static warning indicators however still refuse to switch on.
( Red Flag - Yellow Flag - Limiter - Low Fuel )

Maybe some more time pokin and hopin will help...

Any further suggestions are more than welcome..

Thanks

Pete

Hi I am having a problem with the DLC-247. I am doing something similar, but I can not get the LEDs to work with RPM%. I set them for RPM just to make sure they are working correctly and everything is ok. When I set them to RPM% they all come on at the same time instead of what I have the values set to.

Same LED configuration set to RPM

Hello.

What simulator do you use when you test the LEDs with RPM%.

Can you do the following test for me please?

Click the menu View->Data... in SimDash
The displayed dialog shows all data coming from the simulator. Are RPM% displayed corectly?

thank you

Hi,

I am using iRacing.

It is displaying the data for RPM%. I tried with a ProShift I have and it works ok with RPM%.

With the DLC and RPM% all of the LEDs come on at the same time.

thank you.
I will investigate what the problem is so it can be fixed in the next version.

Sorry if you have to wait. next version should be available in around a month.

Hello Cristiano,

I am the pround and happy owner of a new button box that iRacer88 built for me, and as per discussion above, it incorporates the DLC247.

In SimDash I got RPM% to work by entering percentages multiplied by 100.  For example, I enter 10% as "1000" %.  You most likely have a division by 100 in your software that should be changed.  This works in the LED area, however, in the gear area, SimDash accepts 90% entered as "90" %, which is correct.

I've attached an xml export to better explain what I did.

I hope this helps.

Alain

Hello.
thank you for your message.
I found a bug in the way RPM% is handled in the software.
I fixed it in the next version of SimDash.

Regards
Cristiano
