Hello !

I'm getting the same error for the last two days. I lost all my config for the cluster in simdash by magic and when I wanted to load my setting from the .xml I get this "error loading settings" message.
I've totally unintsalled SimDash and installed it back, I even tried the beta SimDash but no success. Any idea ?

You'll find my settings file in attachement of this message.

----------------------------------------------------------

EDIT : I don't understand what's happening. I try again and again to import and export settings... export seems ok but the format of the file changes. I opened the new .xml created to see if there is a difference between all files and yes there is a big one.
Cristiano if you have time, have a look to my "240 8000...degrés.xml" file in this post and you'll see that the page is differently presented than usual (have a look to the second file "Test ok.xml"), I really don't understand why. Maybe a bug in simdash ?

----------------------------------------------------------

EDIT2 : and now it never works, simdash doesn't save the setting...... please help me I am bored to have to set the cluster up each time I launch simdash...... :'(

----------------------------------------------------------

EDIT3 : I can get the .xml in good form if I do exactly this :

- connect Pro gauge
- launch SimDash
- try to save a .xml
- verify the .xml which is corrupted each time (can't load it)
- disconnect the Pro gauge USB
- Close SimDash
- Launch Sim Dash
- Save a .xml
- verify the .xml which is well presented and can be loaded

Tell me please that it's not the Pro Gauge AGAIN !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wanted to delete completely the driver of the Pro Gauge and install it again, but I dunno how to find it in the device manager.....

Hi.
Don't worry, I can fix it quickly.

I think the problem is with the serial number of the Pro-Gauge that is not valid.

the serial number is displayed on the top-left corner of the Pro-Gauge configuration screen.

it's marked with a green circle in the attached image.

it should be a 3 digits number. if it is anything else is not valid.

can you tell me what the serial number is for you please?

thank you

for some reason the serial number of the board has changed to something invalid. will investigate why this happened, it is not the first time it happens.

to set the serial number again follow these steps please:

- edit SimDash.exe.config and change these lines:

        <setting name="ShowTestControls" serializeAs="String">
          <value>False</value>
        </setting>

to:

        <setting name="ShowTestControls" serializeAs="String">
          <value>True</value>
        </setting>

- now start SimDash and open the Pro-Gauge configuration screen.
- in the RPM section there is a button that says "Set serial number"
- press it and confirm to set a new serial number
- unplug the Pro-Gauge and plug it in again
- now a new serial number is displayed in the configuration screen.
- if you want to reuse your old configuration file, you need to edit it first and change these lines:

<OtherGaugesControllerSettings>
        <ProductId>7906</ProductId>
        <SerialNumber>J</SerialNumber>

to:

<OtherGaugesControllerSettings>
        <ProductId>7906</ProductId>
        <SerialNumber>xyz</SerialNumber>

where xyz is the new Pro-Gauge serial number.

now you should be able to import the configuration file.

please let me know if you have any problem.

Cristiano

The problem with the serial number came again with the installation of SimDash 2.0. I used the solution you gave me to go above this issue and it works again.

Just to tell you if you're still investigating on it ! ;)
