SimDash (Pro-Race) & Rev
« on: December 04, 2012, 05:54:09 pm »
I don't have a Pro-Race, yet, so I have a question about the rev indicator. I noticed the software has threshold rev values. Does this mean I have to make a config for each car in each game I play if I want to the rev lights to max out at the correct position?

In other words, if game X has car Y with a max RPM of 8000 and car Z with a max RPM of 11000 ... how does SimDash handle this?

Hello.
Some simulators give the RPM values expressed in % of the range. So you can configure the shift lights using a % instead of absolute values.
If you want to know what simulators support that, you have to check this file:

http://www.symprojects.com/go/simdata

Otherwise you have to make different configuration for different cars.
When you have created a configuration you can export it and save it on the desktop (or where you prefer). then you import an existing configuration before you start driving the car.
it's not ideal but loading an existing configuration takes few seconds.

Configuring rev lights with the Pro-Race can be a quick operation if you use the configuration wizard, where you set the RPM value for the first LED and the RPM value for the last LED.
The values for the intermediate LEDs are interpolated.

Please let me know if you have more question.

Thanks for the quick response!

It leads me to one other question. Is there an auto-load config feature that loads a specific config when a sim is detected?

Kind of like Logitech's driver for the g25/g27. Not sure if you are familiar with it, but you can configure the wheel behavior & buttons mappings based on a {gamename}.exe file. That would be an excellent feature to have if SimDash doesn't currently have it.

Thanks again!
